She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Laughrey and Josephine Catterline Laughrey; and her siblings, Ted Laughrey (Shirley), Shirley Vester (Harland) and Carolyn Maxwell.
She is survived by: her husband Carl Lu; her son Brian Hopton (Mandy) of Terre Haute; her grandchildren, B. J. Hopton, Jacob Hopton and Kayla Hopton; her brother-in-law Jim Maxwell of Terre Haute; and her caregiver Elizabeth Johnson. She is also survived by her extended family, including several nieces, nephews.
