He was predeceased by : his parents, Daniel Webster Watkins and Iva Watkins (Lowrie); his sister Dorothy "Dot"; his brother-in-law Robert High; and his brothers, James "Buzz" Watkins and Ted Watkins.
He is survived by : his wife Nancy; his daughters, Jennifer Watkins of Fayetteville, NC, Shirah Winicur (Zev) of Indianapolis and Laura Ping (Bart) of Terre Haute; his grandchildren, Omri Winicur, Micah Winicur, Dana Ping and Rowan Ping; his sister-in-law Betty Watkins of Austin, TX; his niece Nancy Ballman (Chuck); and his nephews, Dan High, Scott Watkins, Brett Watkins and James Watkins. He is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
