He was predeceased by : his parents, James Walter and Bessie Mitchell (Paige); his wife Rosalie Mitchell (Nease); and his siblings, Jacob Mitchell, Russell Mitchell, Durbin Mitchell, Alva Mitchell, Melfred Mitchell, Nelson Mitchell, Carl Mitchell and Mildred Southerland.

He is survived by : his daughter Kimberley Demaree (David) of Thorntown; and his brother Jerry Mitchell of Florida.
