He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, William Byers and Laura Byers (Woodard); his wife Linda Byers (Teter); his children, Joseph Jr. (Denise Byers), Lori (Michael Creighton), Julie (Paul Beihold) and Carmel; his grandchildren, Kayla Creighton, Aaron (Angela Creighton), Cameron (Michelle Creighton), Stephen Beihold, Anne Beihold and Ava Rose Byers; and also, Felix Finck, Dean Creighton and Dallas Creighton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
