It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lela E. Peters of Vallonia, Indiana, born in Corbin, Kentucky, who passed away on September 6, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, George D. Durham and Mollie Durham (Petrey); her son James E. Peters; her siblings, James V., Virgil Durham and Anna L. Bush; and her granddaughter Molly E. Peters.

She is survived by : her husband Empson G. Peters; her son Chris Peters (Nyra) of Vallonia; her daughter-in-law Theresa Peters of Champaign, IL; her grandchildren, Curt H. Peters, Emily L. Sommers (Chad), Anna K. Peters (Yusuf Hermes) and Samuel J. Peters; and her great grandchildren, Selena, Dacy, Ebke Peters, Max and Lela Sommers.
