He was predeceased by : his parents, John Hackman and Hilda Nierman Hackman; his granddaughter Laura Jean Berry; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Schneck and Willard Wischmeier.

He is survived by : his wife Jean; his children, John William Hackman (Tammi) of Vallonia, Stuart Schneck Hackman (Stephanie) of Vallonia, Holly Lee Berry (Richard) of Vallonia, Julie Ann Savich (Stevan) of Vallonia and Amy Jo Hartley (John) of Vallonia; his grandchildren, Sarah Beth Strack (Donnie), Nathan Richard Berry (Allison), Caitlyn Lee Baker (Jimmy), Seth Leland Berry (Regan), Aaron John Hackman (Katie), Lindsey Crist Fish (Blake), Caleb Zane William Hackman (Kaitlyn), Avri Cora Sanchez Bonilla, Richelle Lynne Kovener (Bryan), Elise Leanne Watkins (Brad), Wesley Benjamin Hartley (Angie), Olivia Joyce Hanner (Lucas), Emily Jean Payne (Alex), Trey James Hackman and Madelyn Faith Hackman; his great grandchildren, Ellabeth Faith Strack, Anderson Donald Strack, Lilajean Mae Strack, Evaleigh Grace Strack, Harrison Louie Strack, Islarose Joy Strack, Whitaker Twain Strack, Easton Colt Berry, Morgan Grey Berry, William Richard Baker, Evan James Baker, Future Leland Hollis Baker, Future Carter Berry, Chloe Crist Fish, Parker David Fish, McKenna Hay Hackman, John Kyler Gregory Hackman, Preston Riley Kovener, Jackson Benjamin Hartley, Landon James Hanner and Future Baby Hanner; and his sister Marcella Wischmeier of Seymour. He is also survived by four step great - grandchildren.

Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, the family requests that masks be worn when at the funeral home for visitation and at the church for the funeral service.
