She was predeceased by : her parents, Van Dowell and Viola Dowell (Coryea); her spouse William "Bill" Smock; and her siblings, Paul Dowell, Joyce Hubbard, Kate Carney, Maxine Patrick, Mary Wilds, Naomi Scroggins and Thelma Dowell.

She is survived by : her daughters, Teri Sorenson (Steve) of North Vernon, Lisa Barton (Danny) of North Vernon and Beth Smock of Houghton, Michigan; and her grandchildren, Isaac Fry of North Vernon, Travis Sorenson (Meagan) of North Vernon, Trent Sorenson (Kacee) of Commiskey and Matt Woodard (Shasta) of Lovett. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
