He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Newman and Mary Newman (Hill); his wife Evelyn Williams; his son Thom Newman; his grandson Brad Newman; his great grandchild Cole Newman; and his siblings, Mable Frisz, Gladys Shakleford, Reba Tolbert, Carlos, Howard and Ralph Newman.
He is survived by: his children, Dave Newman (Patty) of Cypress, TX., Jeff Newman (Julie) of Vincennes and Chris McCrary (Troy) of Vincennes; his daughter-in-law Denise Newman of Vincennes; and his grandchildren, Eric Newman (Lori), Travis Newman, Kevin Newman, Jessica Swan (Jason), Jenna Lankford (Clay), Corbin, Trent and Lauren McCrary. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
The Newman family has requested memorial contributions be made in George's name to Good Samaritan Hospice, 601 S. 9th St., Vincennes, IN 47591.
