He was predeceased by: his parents, John Albert and Anastasia Szafraniec; his wife Patricia Rabidoux; his children, Katherine Hunt and Louis Leja; his siblings, Celia Clark and John Leja; and his brother-in-law James Tisol.
He is survived by: his sons, David Leja (Diana) of Addison, Mike Leja (Judy) of Chesterton and Tom Leja (Brenda) of Fish Lake; his children-in-law, Sharon Leja of New Lenox, Illinois and George Hunt of Michigan; his grandchildren, David Leja, Jessica Leja, Danny Leja, Angie Pentek (Zack), Eddie Hunt, Ashley Korthals (Jimmy), Samantha Leja, Jillian Leja, Savannah Barnett (Cody) and Cassidy Leja; his great grandchildren, Brayden, Briella, Troy, Bryson, Leighton and Macy; and his siblings, Sophie Maier (Richard) of Wisconsin, Helen Tisol of Tinley Park and Joe Leja.
