It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Leona Rauen of Wanatah, Indiana, who passed away on August 15, 2020, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Benkie and Nina Benkie (Sims); her spouse Irvan G. Rauen; her brothers, Bernell and Howard Benkie; her son-in-law Donald Shireman; and her grandson-in-law Mike McArdle.
She is survived by: her children, Judy Shireman of Wanatah, Sharon Mattox of Wanatah, Linda Mattox (Steve) of Wanatah and Vernon Rauen (Barbara) of Wanatah; and her brother Gerald Benkie (Carol) of Valparaiso. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Due to allergens the family requests that no flowers be sent as memorials. Donations may be made in Leona's name to the church.
