He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry J. Benefiel and Sara Benefiel (Bronnenburg); his siblings, Earl Benefiel, Forrest Benefiel and Orpha Brooks; and his brothers-in-law, John Plummer and Howard Plummer.

He is survived by: his spouse Ruth E. Benefiel (Plummer); his children, Glen Benefiel (Rita) of Warren, IN, John Benefiel (Connie), Howard Benefiel and Carol Secttor of Marion, IN; his grandchildren, Tony Benefiel (Donna) of Warren, IN, John Benefiel (Hope), Tracie Benefiel of Phoenix, AZ, Michele McDonald (Noel) and Lora Clarke (Ron); his sister Mary Newland of Anderson, IN; and his sisters-in-law, Martha Plummer of Warren, IN and Glenna Plummer. He is also survived by 9 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
