It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gary Allen Switzer of West Terre Haute, Indiana, who passed away on May 31, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Erman A. Switzer (Al) and Virginia M. Switzer; his wife JoAnn; his sister Judy Bishop (Switzer); his parents-in-law, Robert and Wilma Jo Woolley; and his siblings-in-law, Wanda, Jack Fox, Wesley Woolley, Ronald Simpson and Barbara Simpson.
He is survived by: his children, Christi Deal (Russell), Carrie Kesler (Kim), Gary Switzer (Faith), Douglas Switzer (Missy), Michelle Blair (Don) and Andrew Switzer (Darla); his grandchildren, Allen Deal, Adam Deal (Chelsea), Austin Deal (Tabatha), Courtney Bickett (Zach), Sarah Switzer, Stephen Switzer, Seth Switzer, Skylar Switzer, Guy Switzer, Brody Myers, Abigail Switzer, Brenda Switzer, Russell Cox, Dale Cox, Kaleb Blair (Jorden), Alec Blair (Kaitlin), Alyssa Billberry (Vahn), Erik Switzer, Andrea Switzer, Kiale Ellis (Morgan), Karissa Markland (Cody), Billy McKeehan (Christina), Brandon McKeehan (Amber) and Anna McKeehan; his siblings, Dianna Withem (David), Sandy Judy, Barbara Ray (Wayne), Kathy Corey and Allison Tate (Ricky); and his siblings-in-law, James Simpson, Joyce Simpson, Maggie Braden (John), Bob Woolley (Cheri), Debbie Williams (Joe) and Greg Woolley (Pam). He is also survived by his 23 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews as well as many special friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the West Side Christian Church (126 N 8th St, West Terre Haute, IN 47885). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
Gary's family welcomes memorial contributions to the West Side Christian Church, in lieu of flowers.
