He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Freeman and Marie May Lucas (Thompson); and his siblings, Merlin "Pete" Lucas, Howard Lucas, Jr., William Joseph Lucas, Lloyd Thurman Lucas, Vivian Lucas, Betty Lucas, Ann Kirtley and Marilyn Verbosky.
He is survived by: his wife Colleen Mae Quick; and his children, Brian Lucas of Madison, Michael Lucas of Mineral City, Ohio, Karen Wright of Madison and Teresa Anson of Vincennes. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and his 9 great grandchildren.
