He was predeceased by : his parents, Roy Edward Gardner and Emma Lorene Gardner (Reed). He is survived by : his wife Helen Louise Gardner of Worthington, IN; his children, Denise R. Ingle (Rick) of Worthington, IN, James T. Gardner (Kim) of Coal City, IN and Roy E. Gardner (Joyce) of Worthington, IN; and his sisters, Sharon Reece (Roy) of Worthington, IN and Phyllis Jacob of Jasonville, IN. He is also survived by grandchildren – 12; great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of James to National Parkinson Foundation.
