Joan Kathryn Kayes Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Kathryn Kayes of Zionsville, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 16, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John DuFon and Jean DuFon (Kubacki); her husband Kosmas Kayes; her brother John "Jack" L., Jr.; and her siblings-in-law, Peggy Terzes (Albert), Bessie Naglosky (William) and Tom Kayes (Fritz).
She is survived by: her children, Kosmas J. Kayes (Lisa) and Dr. D. Christopher Kayes (Anna); her grandchildren, Kosmas Alec, Braden Christopher, Alyssa Evon and Benjamin Kosmas; and her sister Jeanine Smetana (Bart). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Alphonsus Liguori Roman Catholic Church (1870 W Oak St, Zionsville, IN 46077). A Mass was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Monday, September 23rd 2024 at 10:45 AM at the CST Calumet Park Funeral Chapel (7535 W Taft St, Merrillville, IN 46410). A burial was held on Monday, September 23rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Calumet Park Cemetery (2305 W 73rd Ave, Merrillville, IN 46410).
