He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Psychigoda Schmidt and Joseph Benjamin Schmidt; and his sister Marjorie Jean Dautel Hogan. He is survived by: his nieces, Judy Hafner (Brent) of Topeka and Deborah Elliott (Tim) of Abilene. He is also survived by five grand nieces and nephews, and five great grand nieces.
