He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ehrich and Agnes Ehrich (Weidmeman); and his brother James "Jim" Ehrich. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Ehrich of Abilene; his children, Aaron Ehrich (Jody) of Abilene and Kristin Birdsong (Cory) of Kansas City, Missouri.; his grandchildren, Colton, McKenna, Zander Ehrich, Brigham, Grady and Moxie Birdsong; his siblings, Allan Ehrich of Tower, Connie Stewart of Abilene, Bonnie Boyd of Orient and Sandy Schmidt of Redfield; and his pet Giselle.

Family suggests memorials be given to the Elsie Brooks Cancer Foundation.
