He was predeceased by: his brother Leland; and his brother-in-law Henry Kolling. He is survived by: his wife Edna Edwards; his sons, Jeffrey and Bruce (Deana); his grandchildren, Sarah Long, Lysa Matthew (Derrick), Jessica Long, Joel Long (Kiersten), Jonah Long and Lydia Long; his sister Phyllis Kolling; and his sister-in-law Linda Long.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations in Max's memory to First Christian Church where he served as an elder for decades until he became elder emeritus.
