He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Zimmerman and Elsie Brabb Zimmerman; his wife Norma Van Buren of Paul's Lutheran Church; and his brother-in-law Arthur Johnson. He is survived by: his sister Betty Johnson of Oskaloosa, KS; his children, David Zimmerman (Shirley) of Salina and Susan Brunkow (Bradley) of Manhattan; his grandchildren, Paula Shuck (Michael) of Edmond, Oklahoma, Aaron Zimmerman (Heather) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Nathan Zimmerman (Larissa) of Frisco, Texas, Eric Brunkow (Mollyanne) of Olathe and Kristen O'Shea (Gabriel) of Topeka; his great grandchild Evan Shuck; and his grandchildren, Ethan Shuck, Aspen Zimmerman, Reece Zimmerman, Hannah Zimmerman, Zion Brunkow, Leland O'Shea and Victoria O'Shea.
A funeral service was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (303 Main St, Alta Vista, KS 66834).
