He is survived by: his children, Pearlie Reese (Eddie), Kevin Shelton (Debbie) and Regina Miller; his close friend Cathy Hooley; his siblings, Melvin Shelton (Harriett), Leona Whitaker (Ray) and Della Patterson (Fred Winter); and his sisters-in-law, Tena Shelton and Dora Shelton. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials in memory of Steve may be made to the Kansas Humane Society or to Salina Regional Health Center ICU, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
