Ma Martinez Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ma Martinez of Arkansas City, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 9, 2025 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Ma had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Ma may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Secundino Martinez and Donaciana Martinez (Claudio); and her daughter Sylvia E. Martinez. She is survived by: her son Rony Martinez (Kristie); her grandson Braxton Martinez; and her cousin Francis Pressnall. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters, and numerous nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Shelley Family Funeral Home (906 W Kansas Ave, Arkansas City, KS 67005).

Memorials in her name may be made to the Braxton Martinez education fund and left in the care of the funeral home.
