He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Rudolph and Myrtle Shelite (Shurts); his siblings, Mary Shedd, Richard Shelite, Robert Shelite, Mildred Tate, Velma Haas and Everette Shelite; his granddaughter Dallas Woods; and his great grandchildren, Trace Baker and Josiah McCaskill.
He is survived by: his children, Chester James Shelite of Alva, Jackie McCaskill (Dan) of North Berwick, Scotland, Barbara Mahon (Don) of Alva, Alice Putnam (Roger) of Alva and Michelle Shelite of Freedom; his brother Lawrence Shelite of Alva; and his grandchildren, Eric Shelite, Jeff McCaskill, Lisa Wetzel, Stewart McCaskill, Donny Mahon, Jeremy Mahon, Lacy Bynum, Wade Woods, Jonie Martin, Chandra Murrow, Cynthea Baker, Caleb Murrow, Sabra Kimery and Shandi Haight. He is also survived by 31 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
