He was predeceased by: his parents, Katherine Holcomb (Bechtel) and Dewey Holcomb; his wife Carolyn Shelton; and his siblings, Virginia Trotter, Bill Holcomb and Evelyn Joachims.

He is survived by: his daughters, Cheri Hedstrom (Bryce) of Loveland and Susie Spahr (Steve) of Loveland; and his close friend Donna McCloe.
