He was predeceased by : his mother Patricia Riener (Marintzer); his brothers, Michael and Daniel Riener; and his grandparents, Harry, Margaret Riener (Ketterl), Hubert and Doris Marintzer (Janousek).
He is survived by : his father Karol Riener (Jacqueline) of Herndon, Kan.; his wife Keri Waterman; his daughter Josie of Atwood, Kan.; his siblings, James Riener (Amy) of Phillipsburg, Jeffrey Riener (Megan) of Stockton, Kan. and Jessica Keller (Landon) of Beaufort, S. C.; his stepsiblings, Calvin Hughes of Redmond, Wash and Kayla Hughes of Manhattan, Kan.; his parents-in-law, Martin and Jane Waterman of Atwood, Kan.; and his sister-in-law Kristy Plander (Tim) of Lincoln, Neb.. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the John Riener Children's Education Fund and sent in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
