He was predeceased by : his parents, Fritz Benteman and Erma Kipp Benteman; and his siblings, Lee, Fritz, Norman, Frank, Jimmy, Joe, Susie, Erma, Bertha and Florence.

He is survived by : his former life partner Josephine Dowd; his wife Karen Lee Young; his children, Vicki Jo Bennett (Shane) of Silver Lake, Travis Edward Benteman (Valerie) of Topeka, Darcy Lee Benteman of Auburn and Cody Kipp Benteman of Auburn; and his sisters, Mabel Beem of Marion and Martha Mullins of Yeager.
