It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Wesley Hammond (Augusta, Kansas), born in Wichita, Kansas, who passed away on December 1, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Virgil Hammond and Ernestine Hammond (Bourget); his daughter Annette Kim Hammond; and also, Katherine Kusie, Dennis Thompson and Paulette Kusie.
He is survived by : his wife Janice Hammond; his daughters, Janine Roth (James) of Tonkawa, OK and Lori Snider (Rick) of Winfield; his brothers, Virgil Richard "Dick" Hammond (Sarah) of Augusta and William Lee "Bill" Hammond (Joyce) of Paris, MO; his grandchildren, Ryan Kilby (Amy) of Derby, Taylor Snider of Wichita, Dylan Snider of Wichita, Jessica Kirby (Zac) of Ponca City, OK, Jillian McMillen (JD) of Tonkawa, OK and Celia Roth of Grapevine, TX; and his great grandchildren, Lincoln, Lane, Abel Wes, Henry McMillen of Tonkawa, OK and Chloe Stuhlsatz of Derby. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Contributions be made out to the Central Baptist Church in Augusta or PXE International, (PXE is the rare eye disease that caused Wes's blindness) left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
