It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Markeita Gleason of Cimarron, Kansas, born in Anthony, Kansas, who passed away on June 16, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Layton Gleason; her grandson Ty Gleason; her nephews, Billy Joe Komarek, Rodney Allen Jones, Jared Kaltenback and Blake Stanley; her sister Leatha King; and her siblings-in-law, Lois Morehead, Phyllis Gleason, Al "Corky" King, Richard Degnan, Bob Komarek and Jim Gleason.

She is survived by : her children, Tim (Pam) and Tammy Peterson (Tom); her grandchildren, Cory Gleason and Camron Peterson; and her siblings, Wanda Jones (Clarence "Pee Wee") and Gerald Morehead. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Ty Gleason Memorial Scholarship Fund or the Cimarron City Library both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
