It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lester Lee Smith of Codell, Kansas, who passed away on March 22, 2021, at the age of 106, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Smith and Percie Smith (Peirson); his wife Lennice Smith (Lynch); his daughter Marcene Locke (Delwin); his siblings, Howard (Wilma), Arthur (Leona), Roy "Dutch" Smith (Melba), Ellen Hockett (Howard), Neva Hoskins (Arden) and Ruby Zuehlke (Williard); and his grandsons, Aaron Smith and Nick Cox.
He is survived by: his children, Geneva Scott (Dennis) of Lubbock, TX, Gavon Smith (Ann) of Newton, KS, Myrna McClellan (Jim) of Liberal, KS, Verna Smith of Wichita, KS, Jana Myers (Jim) of Goodland, KS and Trisha Koel (David) of Plainville, KS. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; and two great-great-grandchildren on the way and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
