Betty Lou Nigh Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Lou Nigh (Council Grove, Kansas), who passed away on May 16, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Betty Lou may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Betty Lou touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Calvin Nigh; her mother Rowena Nigh; her daughter Maryann Paris; and her brother Gene Marple. She is survived by: her children, James Nigh of Cottonwood Falls, KS and Linda Freeman (Bobby) of Sparkman, AR; her brother Vernon Marple (Karen) of Emporia, KS; and her grandchildren, Dwight Nigh, Wayne Burnett, Jared Freeman, Erin Nigh and Tiana Freeman. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
