He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald L. Frickey and Dorothy J. Frickey (Hauke); and his sister Trish. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Crutchfild; and his siblings, Nancy Lindbloom of Rogers, AR and Mike Frickey. He is also survived by Many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel (32665 Lexington Ave, De Soto, KS 66018). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the De Soto Cemetery (34500 W 87th St, De Soto, KS 66018).

“It was my distinct pleasure to call Jim a friend. He always expressed how proud it was to provide services to the citizens of Johnson County by maintaining the ambulance fleet. What he may not have appreciated was how invaluable he was to the organization and the people that worked at MED-ACT. He was one of a kind; smart, decisive, skilled, versatile, and kind.
