It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rick Morriss of Douglass, Kansas, who passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rick Morriss to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Morriss (Bob) and Mary Morriss; and his nephew Taylor. He is survived by: his wife Melanie; his children, Amanda Morckel (Chris) and Lauryn Young (Chad); his stepchildren, Morgan and Cory Goings; his grandchildren, Austin, Sawyer, Jackson, Scott, Audrey, Edith and Evelyn; and his siblings, Randy, Diana and Debbie.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Smith Family Mortuary (1415 N Rock Rd, Derby, KS 67037).
Rick never would have wanted anyone to spend money on him so in lieu of flowers, Rick's family ask you to hug your loved ones just a little bit tighter, and a little bit longer.
