She was predeceased by : her parents, Glenn Handlin and Wanda Handlin (Burkett); and her former life partner Gene Cooper. She is survived by : her husband Bob Smith; and her son Robert Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada.. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Morton County EMS in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
