He was predeceased by: his wife Drucilla; his parents, William Richard and Dorothy Richard (Headley); his sister Elda Ostermann; and his son-in-law Vern Oestmann.

He is survived by: his children, Dru Richard (Candy), Debby Oestmann and Cindy Lamia (Jim); and his sister-in-law Helen Mitchell. He is also survived by 8 grandsons, 12 great grandchildren.
