He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Barkow and Wilhelmina Barkow (Nienke); his siblings, William Barkow, Nina Hysell and Viola Campbell; his son Brent Barkow; and his granddaughter Lindsay.
He is survived by: his significant other Leeona Barkow (Novotny); his daughter Lisha Cannon (Dennis); and his grandchildren, Samuel, Louis Cannon, Logan and Chloe Barkow.
