It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cecilia J. Torres of Emporia, Kansas, who passed away on February 14, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Juan Solano and Maria Villalpando Solano; her spouse Guadalupe "Lupe" P. Torres; her daughter Cecilia Torres; her brother Richard Solano; her grandson Tobias Torres; and her great grandchildren, Carlitos Benitez and Brendan Granado.
She is survived by: her children, Gary (Patty) of Wichita, Mike Torres (Cynthia) of Emporia, Edward Torres of Montana, Rick Torres (Loretta) of Emporia, Carmen Torres Miller of Emporia, Terri Salazar (Joe) of Emporia, Leona Cisneros (Philip) of Emporia, Rosie Oaks (Rick) of Emporia and Mary Hernandez (Oscar) of Emporia. She is also survived by 43 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Due to the current pandemic restrictions private Mass of Christian burial was held at 11:00 a. m., Thursday, February 18, 2021 at St. Catherine Catholic Church with burial following at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
