He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Welda and Hawa M. North Potter Beyer; and his siblings, Jim Potter, Sharon Carr and Penny Potter-Lanzrath.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Potter of Emporia; his children, Roger D. Potter, Jr. of Emporia and Shalla R. Bennett (Robert) of Emporia; his granddaughters, Elleana of Emporia and Emeil Bennett of Emporia; and his siblings, Kim Potter of Buffalo, Kansas, Carla Bailey of Topeka, Brenda Ryno of Emporia and Vicki Jacobs of Emporia.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Anderson Building (2700 US-50, Emporia, KS 66801). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Saffordville United Methodist Church (2450 Yy Rd, Emporia, KS 66801). A burial was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at the Hillside Cemetery.
