It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thelma O. Thomas of Fort Scott, Kansas, who passed away on June 23, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Wurtz and Viola Wurtz (Brant); her former husband Marion Elmer Phillips; and her siblings, Virgil Wurtz, Ray Wurtz, Robert Wurtz, Roscoe Wurtz, Willie Wurtz, Lester Wurtz, Lee Wurtz, Albert Wurtz, Ollie Wurtz, Irvin Wurtz and Rosella Jane Clemens.
She is survived by: her former husband Otis Thomas; her husband Otie; her children, Diana Cavin (Roger) of Fort Scott, Brenda Bailey (David) of Fort Scott and Randy Phillips (Laura) of Fort Scott; her sister Lillie Mae Jackson; her grandchildren, Brent Cavin (Danielle), Ashley Cavin (Peytonn), Austin Bailey (Valerie) of Holland, Breanna Newman (Mitchell) and Bethany Phillips (Kahn); and her great grandchildren, Ginnyfer Cavin of Fort Scott, Graham Cavin of Fort Scott and Hagen Newman of Fort Scott.
