He was predeceased by : his parents, Wilbur Houchin and Juanita Ferguson Houchin; and his siblings, Alonzo, Harvey, Darrell Dean, Ray, Dale and Glenn Edgar.

He is survived by : his wife Caterina Houchin of Carlsbad, NM; his children, Jimmie Houchin (Terri) of Whitewright, Donna Cooper (Steve) of Carlsbad, NM and Monica Stone (Anthony) of Rio Rancho, NM; his siblings, Alice Eshbaugh, William Houchin (Tessie), Jerry Houchin (Sheila) and Larry Houchin; and his sisters-in-law, JoAnn Houchin and Zandie Houchin. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
