With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Billy Joe Shrimplin (Garden City, Kansas), who passed away on July 27, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Shrimplin (Bill) and Gladys Shrimplin (Todd); his wife Julia Ann Gibson; his brother Marvin Shrimplin (Beverly); his brothers-in-law, Louis Collier and David Paasch; his nieces, Janet Mudd, Marl Phillips and Sherry Whitfield; his nephew-in-law Donnie Summers; and also, Dale, Madeline Gibson and Robb Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, Lola Anne Shrimplin of Lawrence and Dirk Ray Shrimplin (Emily); his siblings, Geraldine Collier (Gerrie), Gladys Paasch of Garden City and Floyd Shrimplin of Redlands California; his grandchildren, Hailee Shrimplin, Luke Shrimplin, Tzeitel Shrimplin and Josh Shrimplin; his siblings' children, Judy Taylor, Tina Summers, Kathy Robinson, Lea Leonard, Joy Phillips, Steven Shrimplin, Charles Collier, Garry and Larry Paasch; and also, Doug Jones of Topeka and Edith Fleming of Salina.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Garden City-First United Methodist Church (1106 N Main St, Garden City, KS 67846).
The family suggests memorials be given to First United Methodist Church in Garden City in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
