He was predeceased by : his parents, Paul Bethe and Cleda Bethe (Swisher); and his sister Sally. He is survived by : his sisters, Connie and Mary; his wife Vicki Mattison; and his daughters, Christy (Matt Clarkson), Jamie (Israel Killian) and Martha (Matt Maddy). He is also survived by his girls, his thirteen grandchildren and new great grandson.

Memorials may be made to the Jim Bethe Memorial Fund in care of Ryan Mortuary.
