He was predeceased by: his parents, Mathias Friess and Mayme Friess (Roths); and his siblings, Laurene, Marjorie, Cletus, Elmer, Lewis, Eugene, Janice (Donald), Anna Mae (Warren) and Catherine.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Friess of Salina, Cynthia Friess of Salina and Geralyn Sulsar (Doug) of Hunter, Kansas.; his siblings, Harold Friess of Topeka, Maurice Friess (Debbie) of Ransom, Mary Frances Flax of Ransom and Rosella McLain of Ransom; his grandson Jared Sulsar (Tracy); his great grandchildren, Aiden, Mason and Kimber; his grandson Joel Sulsar (Elise); his great grandchildren, Cole, Thea and Silas; his granddaughter Summer Lambert; his great grandchild Maxton; his granddaughter Rachel Friess; and his stepgrandchildren, Kyle and Quincey Pickering.
Viewing was held on Monday, May 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home (207 N Pennsylvania Ave, Ness City, KS 67560). A vigil service was held on Monday, May 26th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the St. Aloysius Church (107 N Vermont Ave, Ransom, KS 67572). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church (107 N Vermont Ave, Ransom, KS 67572). A burial was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at the St. Aloysius Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Aloysius Cemetery in Ransom or the Good Samaritan Society of Hays.
