It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Knapp in Hays, Kansas, born in Bird City, Kansas, who passed away on October 29, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Knapp and Mildred Knapp (Phipps); his wife Patricia Ann Whisler (Patti); his siblings, Doran Knapp (Corky) and Mary Stephens; his siblings-in-law, Renee Knapp, Betty Manz, Dee Yost, John Stephens, Bill Ross and John Yost; his niece Lisa Knapp; and his nephew Ryan Knapp.
He is survived by: his granddaughters, Libby and Adele; his daughters, Jamie Slawson (Brian) and Heidi McDaniel (Jeff) of Topeka; his siblings, Tim Knapp (Janice) of Atwood, KS, Tom Knapp of Olathe, KS and Gay Kruse (Merle) of Sheridan, WY; and his siblings-in-law, Glenda Knapp of Hays, KS, Joyce Ross of Lincoln, NE and Larry Manz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
