She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Holzmeister and Helen Holzmeister (Basgall); and her grandson Curtis Jacob Dechant. She is survived by: her husband Herbert P. Dechant of Hays; her children, Raymond Dechant (Lori) of Dodge City, Brian Dechant of Hays, Eric Dechant of Hays, Joan Freeman (Sam) of Ellinwood and Myra Kreutzer of Hays; and her sister Elsie Suppes of LaCrosse. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
