She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Deges and Dorothea Deges (Engel); her brother Virgil Deges; and her husbands, Clarence Thyfault and Ralph Thummel.
She is survived by: her son John Thyfault (Jessica) of Shawnee, KS; her grandsons, Lincoln and Miles Thyfault; her sister Eileen Curl (Don) of Beaumont, TX; her siblings-in-law, Pat Sis, Trudy Deges, Cathy Smee (John), Mary Engel (Ron), Mark Thummel (Melinda), May Munk and Betty Striggow; her sisters, Mary Joe Thummel and Theresa Kriley; and also, Trudy Deges (Thyfault) of Damar, KS and Esther Weber of Salina, KS. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition, Wanda enjoyed watching her grandsons Miles and Lincoln grow up, particularly tutoring them over the internet during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the "Wanda Deges Thyfault Thummel Elementary Ed Scholarship at Fort Hays State University which will support elementary education majors dedicated to teaching in Kansas.
