He was predeceased by : his parents, Gustav C. Maaser and Charlotte Maaser (Winter); and his brothers, Otto, Bruno and Kurt.

He is survived by : his sister Helen Benson of Lee Summit, MO; and his nephews, Eric Benson of St. Louis, Karl Benson of Portland, OR and Bruno Maaser of France.
