He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rethman and Marcella Rettele Rethman; and his siblings, Marceil "Sis" Fouraker, Betty Himmelberg and Tom Rethman.
He is survived by: his spouse Irene J. Taphorn; his sons, Jason Rethman of Tempe, AZ, Jarred Rethman (Amy) and Netawaka; his siblings, John Rethman (Jerian), Seneca Rethman, Wayne Rethman (Marlene), El Dorado, Doris Fairfield, Judy Hein (Walter), Mary Sanders (Glenn), Morrill Karnowski and Carol Karnowski (Dan); and his grandchildren, Logan Rethman and Kolby Rethman.
