He was predeceased by: his son James Allen Moss; his parents, James W. Moss and Orpha M. Moss; and his siblings, Johnnie Moss and Esther Woofter.
He is survived by: his wife Opal Barnett; his sons, Tim Moss (Dana) of Selden and Gary Moss (Teri) of Hoxie, Kansas; and his sister Margaret Muelenkamp (Lawrence) of Oakley, Kansas. He is also survived by six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
