He was predeceased by : his parents, George K. Martens and Susie Martens (Loewen); his former life partner Ruth Hiebert; his wife Betty Jane Giesel; his stepmother Anna Martens (Hiebert); his son-in-law Arden Penner; and his siblings, Lola Litwiller and Kenneth Martens.
He is survived by : his children, Duane Martens (Gayla) of Inman, KS, Shirley Penner of Inman, KS and Connie Koehn (Kevin) of Mayfield, KY. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and many extended family.
Memorial donations may be given to Inman Senior Center or Hospice of Reno County in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
