He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Luther Dee and Venola Childs (Hansen); his children, Marie, Eric (Melissa) of Junction City, Dane (Janette) of Basehor, Kansas and Andrea; his wife Gaylynn; his sister Marie Wagstaff of Lehi, Utah; and his half-brother Duane Jones of Elmo, Utah. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Despite the restrictions imposed by the COVID 19 pandemic, at the end, his wife and sons were able to be near him.
