He was predeceased by: his parents, Elwood Branfort and Ann Branfort (Anderson). He is survived by: his wife Twila Gladys Richter; his children, Ryan Branfort (Susan) of Salina, Valeri Rosenow (Jeffrey) of Manhattan and Tony Branfort (Khanh Nguyen) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; his sister Karen Williams (Tom) of Benton; his grandchildren, Dane, Amanda Branfort, Brandi, Michael Lacy, Kayla Sitton, Taylor Sitton, Haylie, Austin Werner, Colin Rosenow, Emory Rosenow and Aidan Rosenow; and his great grandchildren, Tatum, Colton, Dawson, Kenna and Isabella.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Geary County Historical Society or Junction City First United Methodist Church.
